A worthy national park in Taipei

#taipeiattractions

Yangmingshan, just north of Taipei, is a favorite escape for both locals and tourists thanks to its scenic hiking trails, hot springs, and seasonal flower blooms.

Visitors usually flock here in spring for cherry blossoms and in summer for hydrangeas, especially around Zhuzihu, but I didn’t manage to come on season.

The park also features volcanic landscapes like steaming vents at Xiaoyoukeng and tranquil spots like Qingtiangang grassland.

It’s accessible by public transit, however, I wouldn’t say as convenient as expected. The bus frequency/capacity is not enough to accommodate visitors especially during high seasons. I had to wait for two hours for bus, so I ended up doing a hike (and still arrived before my friend who decided to wait instead).

Nonetheless, Yangmingshan offers a peaceful retreat with fresh mountain air and sweeping views—perfect for a nature-filled day trip from the city.
