At the annual Dadaocheng Summer Festival, fireworks are set off over the water, mainly at Dadaocheng Wharf. It is also famous as the “Tanabata Romance Fireworks” and is loved by locals as a “summer tradition in Taiwan.”

🔥 Event Overview

・Date of event: July to mid-August 2025.

Every Wednesday from 20:00 for about 3 minutes (there is a long Tanabata version on the final week)

・Production: There are a variety of productions, including “Water Surface Detonation,” where fireworks explode just above the water surface, collaborations with music, and lighting productions. Water and riverside illumination, container markets, and mini concerts will also be held.

🌉 Viewing spots and access
The following locations are considered the best spots:
・Dadaocheng Wharf (Water Gate No. 5): Direct access to No. 5 Water Gate
・Sanchong Zhongxiao Wharf
・Taipei Beimen Plaza
・Taipei Bridge (Westbound Eastbound)
・Xining Luoyang Station
When visiting for the first time, it is best to choose a location that is not affected by the smoke from the fireworks, taking into consideration the wind direction. Also, if you stroll through the light-filled "Waterside Light Gallery", you can take great photos.

🚇 Transportation to the viewing spot
MRT (subway):
　- Beimen Station: About 10 minutes walk from Beimen Plaza (to Water Gate No. 3)
　- Daqiaotou Station: 20 minutes walk or connect by public bus
By bus: Take the Minsheng Main Line, 811, etc., and get off at "Jingshu Ning Zhong", then walk for about 8 to 10 minutes

Parking is not available. There will be large-scale traffic restrictions and bicycle restrictions on the day, so we definitely recommend using public transport.

💡 If you're going on the day,
arrive an hour before the start. Be careful as it can get particularly crowded on weekends and the final week of the festival.
The fireworks will start at 8pm (there will also be synchronized lighting and music).
Food trucks and container markets will be lined up around the venue, so you can satisfy your hunger ◎
