Da’an Park: A Central Oasis in Taipei

I didn’t realise how soft Taipei could feel in spring. The whole city seems to breathe a little slower. Flowers bloom quietly in the background, and there’s always a bird singing somewhere.
I spent the morning walking around Da’an Park. The pond was full of turtles sunning themselves, and there were birds everywhere.
The best part was how calm everything felt. I sat down on a bench near the pond and just listened. The birdsong, the wind, someone’s soft radio playing in the distance.
If you're ever in Taipei during March or April, don’t skip the parks. They’re quiet, but full of life if you pay attention. You don’t need a plan. Just walk slowly, look up, and let the city show you its softer side.
Bring a drink, sit somewhere sunny, and stay until you hear something you've never noticed before.
