Located at the intersection of Songjiang Road and Minquan East Road, Xingtian Temple is arguably Taipei's most visited temple, with over 10,000 visitors per day.
Devoted to Guandi, Xingtian Temple boasts a widely accepted faith and boasts several unique features. These include no alms boxes, no offerings of sacrifice, no burning of gold paper, no accepting of gold medals, no performances of thanksgiving, no spirit mediums, no solicitation of donations, and a prohibition on commercial activities.
The area surrounding Xingtian Temple is a key commercial district in Taipei, with a dedicated MRT station. Consequently, there's a wealth of delicious food, such as Bulao Hakka traditional mochi, the renowned Japanese rice bowl restaurant SUKIYA, and the Songjiang Self-Service Stone Hot Pot, with 4,612 Google reviews. Breakfast options include Chaochen Shanghao and Zhenfang Charcoal Toast.
Every Lunar New Year, Xingtian Temple distributes free Spring Festival couplets to celebrate the New Year with everyone! While there were crowds, it wasn't enough to require a three-day, three-night queue.
If you want to avoid the crowds, try Beitou or Sanxia Xingtian Temple, where they'll be less crowded.
