Let the Bullets Fly Overseas Chinese Buildings

The Mei Family Courtyard in Jiangmen has become a tourist hotspot due to the recent movie "Let the Bullets Fly". This time, in addition to visiting the Diaolou, I also made a special trip to the Mei Family Courtyard during my self-driving tour in Jiangmen. The Mei Family Courtyard was built by local overseas Chinese in the 1930s. It consists of 108 2- to 3-storey arcade houses arranged in a rectangular community with an open square in the center. The architectural style of each house incorporates Western aesthetic design, each with its own characteristics, and most of them are well preserved, with great historical appreciation value, and are key protected cultural relics. Currently, some of these overseas Chinese houses are open to tourists for visits, and most of the shops on the ground floor are stores selling souvenirs and local specialties🛍, mainly targeting tourists. There are also restaurants🍜 and beverage shops🥤. When you are here, you can experience the living environment and architectural culture of overseas Chinese and their families in those days.

Address: Datong River, Duanfang Town, Taishan City, Jiangmen
