I regret coming to Yunlan Ranch Resort Hotel. I regret not coming here sooner.

Living in the city for so long, I always yearned for a peaceful retreat. This time, my friends and I decided to visit Yunlan Ranch in Taishun, initially drawn by its idyllic pastoral scenery. Little did we know, the resort hotel we stayed at would turn out to be the highlight of our trip. From the first light of dawn to the starry night sky, every moment felt like it was worth every penny.

We arrived at the ranch at 10 a.m., and as soon as we stepped out of the car, we were greeted by the refreshing aroma of grass-covered hills. Our first stop was "Cow Town," where we donned protective gear and entered the milking area. The cool metal milk bucket clinking against the warm milk created splashes that landed on our sleeves, leaving us with a unique keepsake.

The afternoon sun made us feel drowsy, so we sprawled out on picnic mats on the lawn. My friend couldn’t stop snapping photos, saying the scene looked like a page torn from a fairytale book. It wasn’t until the sunset painted the clouds a tangerine hue that we reluctantly made our way to the hotel—after all, the real surprise was yet to come.

The hotel is located right next to the ranch, with its white walls and gray-tiled roofs blending seamlessly into the natural surroundings. As we pushed open the glass doors, the scent of natural wood mixed with a faint aroma of milk coffee greeted us. While checking in, I noticed a children’s area nearby where kids were chattering around a bookshelf, with a plush bear sitting on the sofa like a diligent guardian.

The moment we opened the door to our room, my friend let out a soft "Wow." We had booked a mountain-view twin room, with bedding in a soft ivory hue that felt as fluffy as clouds. The materials were locally sourced cotton and linen, making it incredibly skin-friendly.

The best part was the lounge chair by the window. Curling up in it while watching the bamboo sway outside could easily make half an hour slip by unnoticed. The bathroom was thoughtfully designed, with separate wet and dry areas featuring non-slip mats. The shower had perfect water pressure and instant hot water, while the mirror had an anti-fog feature, staying clear even after a hot shower. The shampoo lathered into a foam with a subtle milky scent, leaving our hair soft and smooth. My friend remarked in front of the mirror, "This setup is even better than home!"

During our two-day stay at the hotel, we barely left the premises—the facilities were just too comprehensive! At 7 a.m., we hit the gym, where floor-to-ceiling windows offered views of the ranch’s morning mist. Running on the treadmill while watching the sun rise from the valley was far more enjoyable than staring at a wall in a city gym.

At noon, we headed to the outdoor pool, where the water was so clear you could see the grout lines between the tiles at the bottom.

Afternoons were spent in the kids’ play area and the library. The play area featured rounded-edge designs for the ball pit and climbing frames, while the library in the lobby had warm, cozy lighting. Picking up an essay collection and reading it to the sound of birds chirping outside the window made time fly until dusk.

On the day we checked out, we waved goodbye to the hotel staff. As our car pulled away, I suddenly understood what it means to "live life like a poetic essay." The comfort here isn’t about deliberate luxury but is instead woven into every ray of sunlight, every bite of food, and every heartfelt smile.
