Tainan Relaxation Diary: First Day of Exploring Food and Scenery

🌞 Tainan in May is sunny and perfect for relaxing. The first day's journey started from Taipei. It only took two hours to reach Tainan by high-speed rail, and then took a train into the city. 🚄💸2700/person. It is recommended to check the train timetable in advance to ensure a smooth connection.

🏍️ After arriving in Tainan, go to Yongxin Xingxing to rent a motorcycle, which is located in front of the right side of Tainan Station. The rental price is 700 yuan/2 days (GP model). The gas station is only 1 minute away. The Sinopec Chenggong Road Station provides direct and self-service. A full tank of gas costs only 131 yuan/2 people, and there is still half a barrel of gas left in the tank after three days. ⛽

🍚 Lunch was served at Coward Rice Cake. We ordered pork cartilage rice cake, white mushroom soup and fried tofu, totaling 145 yuan/2 people. The sesame oil has a moderate taste and is recommended to friends and family. Afterwards, head to the Sweet and Fresh Beverage Shop and try the Nectar Fountain, 130 yuan/2 people, a favorite among sparkling drink lovers. 🍋🫧

🍲 Then we had delicious lard rice with raw egg yolk, fried tofu and fried tempura at Ding Fu Fat Lard Rice, totaling 107 yuan/2 people. The lard rice is unforgettable, the fried tofu is slightly salty, but not sweet or spicy and has a chewy texture.

📸 In the afternoon, I bought some vintage film at Youyoumei FotoShop to record this trip. It cost me 350 yuan. Then we checked into Shiguang Room, which is a small house combining a cafe and a flower room B&B. The accommodation fee is 1,980 yuan per night for 2 people.

🍢 Dinner is served at Laocuo 1933, which has a strong retro atmosphere. It is recommended to make reservations in advance. We ordered grilled skewers, pig blood cake and Good Luck Hotpot, totaling 297 yuan/2 people. The salted pork is especially recommended.

🏮 I strolled along Shennong Street at night. It happened to be the May 8th Market. The streets were full of exquisite lanterns. I bought two bracelets at the market for 620 yuan. The owner thoughtfully adjusted the wrist circumference on the spot.

🍔 The last stop is the Carbon Manbao, where we tasted ice and fire + condensed milk and bacon crispy omelette, 90 yuan/2 people, and the taste was surprising. At the end of the day, we visited Tianyouxian again and enjoyed the nectar fountain, 130 yuan/2 people. 🤭
