Hidden Lake at Xinshan Dream Lake

#chinatravel Went to 新山夢湖 (Xinshan Dream Lake) in Xizhi and it seriously feels like you’ve stepped into a Studio Ghibli scene. Super chill spot that’s not far from the city but feels totally tucked away. The hike up is short but kinda steep in parts, nothing crazy, just enough to get your heart going.

Once you get to the lake, it’s quiet, peaceful, and honestly just super pretty. The water’s got this dreamy vibe, especially with the trees reflecting on the surface. There’s a little dock too where people were just sitting around, snacking, or taking a million photos.

It’s not a huge area but it’s the kind of place you can just hang out for a bit and forget about life. Definitely bring bug spray though. Those mosquitoes don’t play.

If you’re looking for a quick nature escape in New Taipei City that feels a little magical, this is the spot. Perfect for a slow morning or lazy afternoon.
