#chinatravel If you’re ever in Yilan and looking for something unique to do, the Kavalan Whisky Distillery in Yuanshan Township is a super chill spot to visit. Even if you’re not a huge whisky fan, the place is pretty impressive. The whole vibe is relaxed but still feels kind of fancy. You get to see where the magic happens, from the giant copper stills to the barrels aging in these massive storage rooms that smell amazing.

The best part? The tasting room. You can try different Kavalan whiskies and they’re honestly really smooth. Some are fruity, some are smokier, but they all go down easy. The staff are friendly and totally down to explain stuff without making it feel too technical.

There’s also a café and gift shop, which is perfect if you want to grab souvenirs or just chill with a drink. It’s a fun mix of education and indulgence. Worth the trip if you’re in the area for sure.
