Unwinding at Waiao Beach

#chinatravel Waiao Beach in Toucheng, Yilan County is such a laid-back spot to hang out, especially if you’re into beach vibes without the crazy crowds. The black sand is super cool and gives the whole place a different look than your usual beach. It’s got this kind of raw, natural beauty that makes you want to stay longer than you planned.

There were a bunch of surfers out when I went, and even though I didn’t try it myself, it looked like a fun place to learn. There’s a surf school nearby if you're feeling adventurous. The beach is also right by the train station, so getting there is super easy, even if you don’t have a car.

The area around the beach has a few little food stands and cafes, so you can grab a drink and just chill by the water. It’s definitely a good spot to unwind, take some photos, and soak in the ocean breeze.
