Wai'ao Beach in Toucheng, Yilan

Wai'ao Beach is located north of Wushi Harbor. With its flat, clean sands and white waves, it is a favorite spot for surfers. Across the blue ocean, you can faintly see Guishan Island in the distance. Besides swimming, this area is also a hub for extreme sports like paragliding and surfing. Visitors can stroll along the inner path of the northern breakwater of Wushi Harbor to enjoy the spectacular view of Guishan Island. They can also visit the Wai'ao Service Area, which officially opened in August 2008. Designed by Yao Renxi, this unique yellow building faces Guishan Island and a beautiful beach, making it a popular rest stop for tourists visiting Wai'ao.
