The Shanxi Merchants Museum, located at No. 101, Fudong Street, Xinghualing District, Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province, is a local cultural and historical museum built on the former site of the Shanxi Governor's Mansion, integrating cultural relics, ancient buildings, garden landscapes, and exhibitions.
The Shanxi Merchants Museum was once the seat of the Shanxi Provincial Government. In September 2017, the Shanxi Provincial Government relocated and converted it into the "Shanxi Merchants Museum." The collection contains more than 120,000 items including account books, artifacts, bills of exchange, land deeds, coins, etc. related to the history of Shanxi merchants. The Imperial Library houses more than 12,000 rare ancient books published from the Ming and Qing Dynasties to the Republic of China, totaling nearly 40,000 volumes.
