[Miyazaki] The mysterious caves and stone piles of "Amanoyasugawara"

#0YenTravel2025Autumn

Amanoyasugawara is located about a 10-minute walk from the west main shrine of Amanoiwato Shrine.

This is the legendary location of Japanese mythology, where Amaterasu Omikami hid in a cave and the eight million gods gathered to hold a conference.

Entering the large cave, you'll find countless pebbles piled up by worshippers, each with their own wishes. The sight of these quietly piled stones in a space poorly illuminated by light is truly impressive, emanating a mystical atmosphere that is more than just a natural cave.

Watching people make wishes as they pile each stone makes you realize that this place is not just a tourist attraction, but a place of prayer. It's a magical place where the world of myth and human faith intersect.
