[Kumamoto] It's like an entrance to another dimension! The mysterious world of Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine

Kamishikimi Kumanoza Shrine is located in the mountains of Takamori Town in the Minamiaso region of Kumamoto Prefecture.

The first torii gate starts from the place facing Prefectural Route 265, and the shrine is enshrined at the top of a flight of stairs lined with about 97 stone lanterns.

The sight of the stone lanterns lined up has become a hot topic, with people saying it looks like an entrance to another dimension and that it makes them want to see the world of Ghibli, and it has become a popular tourist spot overnight.

It has now become one of the most popular tourist spots in the Aso region, with temporary parking lots being added as well.

At the top of the steep slope of the mountain towering behind the shrine, there is a huge 10m long and wide wind hole called Ugetoiwa.

This legendary rock is said to have been kicked open by Onihachihoshi, and is said to bring good luck in passing exams and praying for victory.
