Zhongshan Warship Museum

The Zhongshan Warship Museum is located in Jinkou Street, Jiangxia District, Wuhan City. The nearest metro station is Dajunshan Station on Line 16, situated across the Yangtze River. It is recommended to take the metro to Dajunshan Station and then transfer to a ride-hailing service for better time management. Note that there is no ferry service at the Zhongshan Warship Pier outside the park. If your visit extends to the museum's closing time in the afternoon, ensure you allocate sufficient time to return to the city center.

As a patriotic education base, the museum offers free admission. It houses the Zhongshan Warship, which was salvaged from the bottom of the Yangtze River after being sunk by Japanese forces, restored, and preserved in the museum. Visitors can view the restored warship from various heights and angles. Originally named "Yongfeng," the warship was built in Japan and later purchased by China. The museum features wax figures, models, and photographs that narrate the history of the Zhongshan Warship and its connection to Sun Yat-sen, from its launch to its sinking in 1938 during the resistance against Japanese invasion in Wuhan. The museum also displays historical artifacts from the Republic of China era that were recovered during the salvage operation. The recovery process was extremely challenging due to the complex currents of the Yangtze River and the need to ensure the warship remained undamaged. The warship, riddled with bullet holes upon its recovery, vividly illustrates the intensity of the battles it endured.
