This is Takayama's popular tourist spot, "Takayama's Old Town."
It's about a 15-minute walk from JR Takayama Station. This is an area with a typical Japanese streetscape, with buildings from the Edo period remaining. It is officially called the Takayama City Mimachi Traditional Buildings Preservation District.
The distance is shorter than you might think, and the area isn't that large, but there are many souvenir shops and restaurants lined up, so you can enjoy eating your way around, so please go and check it out.
Tips for visiting ☑️
If you want to avoid crowds, it's recommended to go in the morning! Also, most shops close early, so it's a good idea to do some research in advance!
