~A place where you can learn about the history of Takehara~
Takehara City History and Ethnicity Museum is said to be a retro Western-style building built as a library in the early Showa period.
It was originally the former residence of Shioya Doseki, a Confucian scholar from the mid-Edo period. It is said that Shunpu later inherited his aspirations and turned it into a place of learning.
Inside the museum, there are exhibits of Ako salt at the time, as well as the history and materials of the salt industry that brought prosperity to the town, so be sure to take a look and learn about the history of Takehara.
