teamLab : A Forest Where Gods Live …งานดิจิตอลอาร์

For art lovers who love digital art and great ideas, you must have heard of or visited the work of the world's most famous digital art team, teamLab. This time, I will take you to see the largest scale work of teamLab that I have ever been to. The exhibition area covers a large onsen hotel, an abandoned onsen, old buildings, and a wide area in the forest for you to see in a very impressive and magnificent way at Mifuneyama Rakuen Hotel in Takeo Onsen, a peaceful tourist attraction in the Kyushu region.

The main exhibition area of teamLab this time is divided into several zones. There are both the hotel building and the forest. I will gradually tell you about each part. Let's start with the journey. The closest major city that we can take a plane to is Fukuoka. From the big station, Hakata station, take the train to Takeo Onsen station. It takes 70 minutes, then take a bus or taxi for about 5-10 minutes to arrive at the hotel. For those who are not staying, you can buy tickets at the hotel for 1,200 yen.

The first highlight on the hotel side is the lobby. ‘Forest and Spiral of Resonating Lamp’, a large lamp installation welcomes you from the first step. The lights will change colors in a cool atmosphere for us to sit and take pictures before walking to see other works in Zones A and B (there is a map when you go). Each work will have a large exhibition room in the main building and continue to the old building zone that looks like an abandoned onsen hotel has been fully renovated. ‘Megaliths in the Bath House Ruins’, a giant sculpture that looks like a pillar planted in the abandoned onsen area, playing with lights and beautiful art patterns. I must say that this piece is very enjoyable to take pictures of. There are so many things for us to see and play with. In addition, there is a walkway in the abandoned building with lights on both sides. There is ‘Living Crystallized Light’, a water mapping plate with light and sound that vibrates and makes sounds when we step on it. ‘Light Sculpture of Flames’, a large cube-shaped work that plays with light like flames swaying in the middle of a dark room. And many more interesting pieces

Come to the forest side, the largest area of the event is divided into zones C, D, E, F, gradually opening after sunset. Zone C, which requires the darkest, will open last after 7 pm. And there is a must-see spot, ‘Drawing on water’, which will be a performance on water. There will be a rowboat stopping in the middle of the water before koi fish and lines of light swimming around until they shine for us to see at intervals. There is a tea room in the middle of the forest, mapping flowers onto each teacup. When lifted, the petals will spread out beautifully. There is a cool digital waterfall and many other interesting spots that you can walk around for a long time. (Read more on the event website)

For those who like beautiful art and great ideas from artists loved all over the world like teamLab, I must say that this event is a must-see.
