🚢 Kohama Island is a small, peaceful gem in Okinawa’s Yaeyama Islands, just a 30-minute ferry ride from Ishigaki Island. It’s the perfect place to slow down, reconnect with nature, and enjoy stunning ocean views without the crowds.

🌊 We stayed at Hoshino Resorts RISONARE Kohama Island, the highlight was the dreamy swimming pool overlooking the ocean. We were so relaxed there we didn’t want to move!

🐠 There’s plenty to do if you want some adventure — snorkeling, cycling, or simply exploring the island. We joined a half-day snorkeling tour to Hamajima Island, a tiny uninhabited sand island that appears only at low tide — the crystal-clear water and colorful fish made it unforgettable.

🌅 Dinner time was magical with a BBQ right by the beach , and the complimentary popsicles in the lobby were the perfect refreshing treat after a sunny day.
