On this trip, I strolled through the Ancienne Medina, where Tangier's history and daily life breathe! 🇲🇦🏘️✨

🛄ㅣAncienne Medina Travel Experience
Adjacent to the Tangier Port, the Ancienne Medina is the city's oldest center. It's a labyrinthine old town where centuries of history and diverse cultures come alive. Entering from the seaside along the city walls, you'll immediately encounter narrow, winding alleyways, where you can experience Tangier's unique atmosphere.

🏘️ White Houses and Blue Decorations
The alleys of the Medina are lined with traditional houses, mostly with white walls and blue door and window frames. Sunlight reflects off the walls, creating a dazzling glow, and the hanging laundry and flower pots add a vibrant touch to the atmosphere. Small steps and arches along each alleyway offer new vistas with every step.

🏺 Market and Shop Scene
The medina is lined with small shops selling spices, olives, leather goods, and traditional carpets. The vibrant colors of yellow saffron, red peppers, and green olives brightened the alleyways, and the rich aroma of herbs and spices filled the air. The merchants' greetings of "Bonjour, Salam!" conveyed a warm welcome and vitality.

🕌 Historical Traces
Interspersed among the alleyways are old mosques and buildings bearing traces of European colonial times. The architectural style, layered with Portuguese, Spanish, and French influences, evoked a sense of the city's multicultural history, not just its Islamic past. Climbing to the small observation deck atop the walls, I gazed down at the port of Tangier and the Strait of Gibraltar, truly recognizing its place as a crossroads for merchants of the past.

☕ A Leisurely Rest
Entering a café hidden in a narrow alley, its tiled walls and small terrace offered travelers a moment of respite. Sipping a cup of hot Moroccan mint tea, feeling the bustle of the market and the sea breeze at the same time, was a special experience unique to the Medina. 🫠
