A century-old school hidden in a community

Peirenli Community, located next to Tangshan Museum, is home to a two-story building that combines Chinese and Western architectural styles. This building is the century-old Peiren Girls' School.
Peiren Girls' School has witnessed the changes in modern Tangshan, and has undergone several name changes, including Peiren Girls' Primary School, Peiren Girls' School, Tangshan Girls' School, Tangshan Shaoshan Middle School, and Hebei Tangshan No. 11 Middle School.
From its establishment until 1941, Peiren Girls' School was the only girls' school in the eastern Hebei region. It has now been transformed into the Peiren Education Memory Museum. The main building of the museum is the school building built in 1934. With the theme of "Tangshan City Memory," the museum has restored the original architectural style of the girls' school through professional cultural relics and ancient building restoration techniques.
The entire building has a frame structure, with walls made of blue bricks and 36 large wooden windows on the north and south sides. It is simple, elegant, and beautiful. Amazingly, the entire building was not significantly damaged during the Tangshan earthquake.
