2025 Taoyuan Food Recommendation: Taoyuan Lu Ding Ji Fish Head Pickled Fish

After returning to Taiwan, I had a dinner with friends in Taoyuan. We chose "Lu Ding Ji", which seemed to be quite popular on the Internet. It mainly features pickled fish and fish head hot pot. The appearance and decoration of the store are in Chinese style, and the overall environment is clean and tidy. However, the actual dining experience was a bit disappointing.

We visited on a weekend night, and there were many customers on site. The waiting time after ordering was unusually long. Although it is understandable that it would be too busy when there are many people, even simple side dishes took nearly 20 minutes, and the main course "fish head pickled fish" took more than 40 minutes to be served. It was obvious that the meal delivery process was not smooth enough, and the service staff seemed to be in a hurry.

Let's focus on this "fish head pickled fish". I originally expected to eat a sour and appetizing soup with tender fish meat, but the aroma of the soup was light when it was served, which was even more disappointing after taking it - the pickled cabbage itself was not bright enough, with a slightly stale taste, and even a little fishy. The meat of the fish head is not tender enough, and the meat with bones is a bit dry. It doesn't feel like fresh ingredients cooked on the same day, but rather like a finished product that was frozen and then heated.

The overall seasoning is a bit confusing, the sourness is not enough, the spiciness is not prominent, and the soup has no layers. Compared with many chain brands that specialize in pickled fish, the taste is really not convincing to visit again. The other side dishes we ordered, such as garlic pork and Sichuan-style peanuts, are just average and there are no surprises.

At this price and waiting time, the CP value is really not high. If you just want to experience the flavor of pickled fish, it is recommended to choose a brand with more stable reviews.

In summary, although the decoration of "Record of the Cauldron: Fish Head Pickled Fish" is good and the name is quite eye-catching, the quality of the food and the efficiency of the meal need to be improved. After this meal, I don't want to visit again, and I don't recommend it to friends who pay attention to the freshness and efficiency of ingredients.
