Sipadan Island

#sempornaisland Sipadan Island, off Sabah’s east coast, is Malaysia’s only oceanic island—rising 600 m from the seabed—with world-class dives around dramatic walls and drop-offs . Known for spectacular dive sites like Barracuda Point, Turtle Patch, and the eerie “Turtle Tomb”, it offers encounters with vast schools of barracuda, reef sharks, manta rays, hammerheads, green and hawksbill turtles . Protected by Sabah Parks, daily permits are limited (≈120 per day), and Advanced Open Water certification is required . Accommodation is off‑island—typically Mabul, Kapalai, or Semporna—with guests commuting for dives. For avid divers, Sipadan is sheer marine magic.
