Mt. Iou near Kawayu Onsen in Hokkaido is called Atosanupuri (naked mountain) in the Ainu language.
The smoke spewing out and the smell of sulfur filling the air are spectacular 😙 You can walk very close to the fumarole and see the yellow sulfur crystals.
Kawayu Onsen is a super acidic spring containing this sulfur, one of the few volcanic springs in Japan ♨️ It's a skin-beautifying spring that also dissolves dead skin cells 👍 Please stop by 😊
