You must visit Suzhou in November, the top destination covering 9.6 million square kilometers

Must-see spectacular autumn spots:
1. Tianping Mountain Red Maples
One of China’s four major maple viewing sites, with over 3,000 ancient maple trees blending with unique rocks and clear springs. Emperor Qianlong stayed here six times during his southern tours. The best autumn viewing points are the Wangfeng Terrace for panoramic shots or Shijing Pond for capturing maple leaf reflections.
2. Humble Administrator’s Garden in Autumn
The foremost of China’s four famous gardens, where autumn ginkgo, red maples, and ancient architecture create a charming scene. Pavilions and towers are scattered amid flowing water, showcasing exquisite Jiangnan autumn colors. The best light is from 3 to 5 pm, and stunning reflections can be photographed near the Reflection Pavilion.
3. Dinghui Temple Twin Tower Ginkgo Trees
In front of the Mahavira Hall are two ginkgo trees over a hundred years old. The golden leaves complement the yellow walls and twin towers, creating a simple and peaceful atmosphere. Visit in late autumn for the best colors, and you can also enjoy free views at the adjacent Wu Zuoren Art Museum or overlook the whole scene from the third floor of the Suzhou Tourism Information Center.
4. Yangcheng Lake Red Maple Avenue
Located in Putian Organic Ecological Agricultural Park, the road is lined with red maples glowing like fire under the warm sun. When the wind blows, the leaves dance like a red ocean. Nearby attractions include Bicester Suzhou Shopping Village and Chongyuan Temple.
5. Daoqian Street Ginkgo Avenue
Ginkgo trees stretch 1.5 kilometers along the river, creating a spectacular scene of “silver yellow canopy and golden ground.” The leaves change color at different paces, extending the viewing period, and the area also carries rich historical and cultural charm. You can take autumn photos at the photo spots set up along the street.
6. Tiger Hill Pagoda Reflecting Autumn Colors
Enter from the south gate; the circular arch of Sword Pool is a perfect frame. Autumn sunlight filters through the leaves onto the water, reflecting the silhouette of Tiger Hill Pagoda. Ginkgo trees and ancient temples on the hill complement each other, full of ancient charm. It’s best to arrive before 9 am or around 5 pm to avoid crowds and capture the best light.
