Song Fa Bak Kut Teh is a must-visit restaurant for tourists in Singapore. Its delicious flavors have been well-loved since 1969, and it has been awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand for eight consecutive years (2016 | 2017 | 2018 | 2019 | 2021 | 2022 | 2023 | 2024).
The branch I had the chance to visit is located at 11 New Bridge Road, near Clarke Quay MRT Station, opposite Clarke Quay The Central. The restaurant features dark brown wooden decor, with both indoor and outdoor seating, which is often fully occupied. The tables are made of wood and white marble, while the round wooden stools add a classic touch to the ambiance.
The restaurant offers a wide variety of menu items, but the Pork Ribs Soup is a must-try. It comes with generous portions of tender pork ribs that are easy to eat. The highlight is the flavorful soup, infused with garlic aroma and a spicy kick from white pepper.bFor those who prefer fattier cuts, go for the Prime Spare Ribs Soup—best enjoyed with steaming hot rice and a sip of the rich broth for a comforting meal. Other soup options include tenderloin pork soup, pig liver soup, and fish soup to suit different preferences.
The restaurant also offers braised dishes with deep, rich flavors, such as Braised Pork Belly, Braised Pig Intestines
For side dishes, recommended options include Salted Vegetables – Slightly salty with a fragrant sesame oil aroma, great for balancing out the richness of the meal, Kai Lan (Chinese Kale) – Stir-fried with oyster sauce and topped with crispy fried shallots.
