🏯It is said that you can see the White Pagoda along the central axis of Jizhou from the Guanyin Pavilion. However, the second floor of the Guanyin Pavilion is not open today, so you can't go up to see the view.
🛕The most valuable part of the White Pagoda Temple is the White Pagoda in the backyard. The year of its construction is unknown. It was rebuilt in 1058 and repaired in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The pagoda is 30.6 meters high and has an octagonal shape. The four main sides have brick-carved false doors (the south door has a Buddha niche carved in the Ming Dynasty), with a pair of flying apsaras on the top, which are lifelike. The four side faces are square seats with round heads and relief inscriptions. The Buddha statue is carved in the middle of the inscription, and the inscription is engraved on the body.
💡The architect cleverly placed the large window sill on the Chinese pavilion, combining the pavilion style, the dense eaves style, and the bowl-covering style into one, which is a unique example in Chinese ancient pagodas.
