[Niigata Prefecture] "Kamosu Mori" - a hidden inn serving delicious local sake in one of Japan's heaviest snowfall areas

HOTEL "Kansai" is a quiet inn located deep in the mountains of Tokamachi, Niigata Prefecture. "Kamosumori" (Brewed Forest)

This is a hideaway inn located on the outskirts of Tokamachi, Niigata Prefecture, one of the areas with the heaviest snowfalls in Japan.

This inn is particular about "sake" mainly made from Niigata sake and "food" made from local ingredients, and has a wide variety of sake and wine, and even has a tasting set, so it's sure to be a favorite for sake lovers.

In winter, the area is covered in a world of white silver, and at night it is silent and quiet, and the night lighting is simply fantastic. In the morning, the snow sparkles, and the contrast between the blue of the sky and the white of the snow creates a different kind of beauty.

The large public bath is not very large, but the water is good for your skin, and in the morning you can enjoy a bath with a view of the snow through the large glass windows.

The meals are very elaborate, and you can choose between Italian and Japanese. Both were wonderful and were perfect for drinking.

When I stayed there five years ago, they also ran a hostel and had dormitory rooms, but now they have eliminated that and all the rooms are private.
