A day of extreme travel in Tokushima

⏰7:00 Naruto whirlpools
Take a bus from Tokushima Station to Naruto whirlpools, which takes about 1.5 hours. You can see the world-famous whirlpools. Standing on the viewing platform, you can see the spectacular whirlpools formed by the surging sea water. If you want to experience the thrill, you can take a sightseeing boat to get close to the whirlpools (about 30 minutes).

⏰10:30 Oboke and Koboke hiking
Take the JR train to Oboke Station, which takes about 1 hour. After arriving, start your hiking trip and enjoy the canyon cliffs and clear river along the Yoshino River. The hiking route is moderately difficult, and the scenery along the way is picturesque, allowing you to fully enjoy the wonders of nature. The whole journey takes about 2 hours.

⏰13:00 Tokushima ramen
Have lunch at a restaurant near Oboke and Koboke, and be sure to try Tokushima ramen. The rich pork bone soup base is paired with chewy noodles and tender char siu, which is very satisfying. The meal takes about 30 minutes.

⏰13:30 Awa Odori Kaikan
Take a bus to Awa Odori Kaikan, which takes about 1.5 hours. After arriving, quickly visit the Awa Odori costumes and props on display in the museum to learn about the history and culture of Awa Odori, which takes about 30 minutes. If you are lucky, you may also come across a short performance.

⏰14:30 Tokushima Castle Park
Walk a few minutes from Awa Odori Kaikan to Tokushima Castle Park. Stroll through the park, admire the Japanese garden landscape, and admire the reconstructed castle tower. Climb to the top of the castle tower to overlook the scenery of Tokushima City and take photos, which takes about 1 hour.

⏰15:30 Mount Bizan
Take a bus to the entrance of Mount Bizan, and take a cable car to the top (round-trip cable car takes about 15 minutes). At the top of Mount Bizan, you can enjoy the panoramic view of Tokushima City and the magnificent scenery. After going down the mountain, go directly to the station and end your one-day trip to Tokushima.
