\ I'm Erika, who has been touring art museums around the world 🤗 /
This time I went to see the permanent exhibition at the National Museum of Nature and Science in Ueno! I've been there on field trips in elementary school, and since then I've only been there during special exhibitions, but as an adult, it's incredibly interesting 🤣 As expected of Tokyo 🗼 As expected of Japan 🇯🇵 The amount of things and information is so fun 🥰🥰🥰 I visited after lunch, but I regret not being able to see everything as it was just before closing time 🙃 This time I'll introduce such a museum ~ _____________________
🖼 National Museum of Nature and Science 🚖 Location: Japan 🇯🇵 Ueno (Tokyo) 💰 Admission Fee: 630 yen ⏳ Viewing Time: 3 hours
📝 Honest Review P O I N T ✔︎・The quality is unbelievable for only 630 yen・It will take a whole day to look at it carefully・You can enjoy it even on rainy or hot days☂️☔
Tokyo National Museum of Nature and Science is one of Japan's leading science museums, located in Ueno Park, Taito-ku, Tokyo! Founded in 1877, this museum has a long history and has many exhibits related to natural science and technology.
[Earth Gallery] - There are exhibits related to the evolution of the earth and life, and the exploration of the universe. - There are many exhibits related to dinosaurs, fossils, and biodiversity.
[Japan Gallery] - The theme is the evolution of Japan's natural history, culture, and technology. - There are exhibits related to Japan's unique flora and fauna, and the development of science and technology since the Edo period.
[Theater 360] - You can experience natural science videos on a large 360-degree screen.
[Access] - It is accessible on foot from JR Ueno Station or Keisei Ueno Station. - Because it is located in Ueno Park, there are many other cultural facilities and tourist spots in the surrounding area. It will probably take about three days to visit the National Museum of Western Art, Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, and Tokyo National Museum. 🙃
[History of establishment]- When it was established in 1877, it opened as the "Education Museum" and was renamed the "Tokyo Science Museum" in 1906. - In 1949, it became the current "National Museum of Nature and Science", and since then, it has contributed to the dissemination and education of science and technology both in Japan and abroad. ______________________
🦕The museum is in danger of closing🦕
This is a bit off topic, but let me share an impressive episode with you! Since 2020, the number of visitors to the museum has dropped sharply due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the costs of continuing to operate the museum have continued to be incurred. In addition, rising utility costs have also been a blow, and the government's operating expenses subsidies have also been decreasing year by year, which has led to problems with operation such as the deterioration of the condition of the specimens. In such a situation, the museum felt that it was difficult to operate, so they asked for donations through crowdfunding, and they received 920 million yen in donations✨The museum was surprised at this result, which far exceeded their target amount‼️They even expressed their gratitude! Also, it was the highest amount of support they have received in a crowdfunding service! After carefully viewing the museum this time, I thought that the admission fee was so cheap that it was appreciated! The content is also amazing🥰And I also thought that it is a museum loved by many people. I was touched by the fact that it is a place full of memories and an episode of the people supporting the country's heritage🔥As expected of the Japanese👍It's wonderful👍The crowdfunding has ended, but entering the museum and visiting it is also a way to support the museum. I made this post in a hurry because I wanted everyone to know about the good points and because I wanted to support the science museum as a fan. It is also a place I would like to visit many times when I have children. _____________________ 🎯Personal review
I started from the Japan Pavilion, which is close to the entrance, but I thought it would be better to start from the Global Pavilion, which has an overwhelming amount of exhibits. I didn't have time, so I didn't get to see the last part of the Global Pavilion🙃There was a place on the top floor of the Global Pavilion where children could play, and it was so amazing that even an adult like me wanted to play there~🥺
