A Tranquil Hidden Gem in Tokyo: Sumida River Bridge

Asakusa is a place full of beautiful scenery.

Stepping out of Senso-ji Temple, you can see the Skytree in the distance. We walked towards it, taking photos along the way, and soon found ourselves by the nearby Sumida River, discovering a special hidden gem. This river, located in the heart of Tokyo, flows gently, and many locals jog and sightsee along the riverside park, adding a touch of leisurely charm.

Suddenly, a deafening rumble came from one side of the bridge connecting the riverbanks—it was a train passing by. We stood under the bridge, watching the train pass by up close, marveling at the sheer proximity of the experience. As we walked onto the bridge to cross to the other side towards the Skytree, the sound of roaring engines gradually approached from a distance. A few Japanese people were riding jet skis on the river, occasionally performing tricks and having a great time. When they noticed us watching, they excitedly waved at us!

If you have some free time after visiting Senso-ji Temple or Kaminarimon, consider walking along the Sumida River towards the Skytree. You might experience a different side of bustling Tokyo.
