In the alley between Harajuku and Omotesando,
in a small izakaya-style space,
I found truly authentic dumplings.
This is Gyopao, a trendy Tokyo spot gaining fame lately!

The signature dish here is the ‘Gyopao Dumplings.’
Not your typical fried dumplings, they have a texture between steamed and fried—
thin and chewy on the outside, juicy on the inside.
When you take a bite, the bursting juice is truly an art 🥹✨

Dip them lightly in the special soy sauce served alongside for an explosion of umami!
Char siu rice bowl and steamed egg are also popular sides,
and paired with a beer, it’s the perfect combo 🍺

✔️ Korean menu available
✔️ Recommended to wait before opening (small seating / very popular!)
✔️ Comfortable atmosphere for solo diners too
