I've written this in the order of the tour! It should be easy to follow and take photos as you go ㅎㅎ The criteria for a great shot are places where the set looks less obvious, making you feel like you’ve truly stepped into the Harry Potter world, with good lighting setups that make your face look great!
Must-take spots for perfect photos! (Essential)
1. Moving Staircase
If you crop the top part just right, it looks natural! It’s even better if you shoot a video because the stairs move. (Use Live Photo)
2. Gryffindor & Slytherin Dormitories
Most people wear school uniforms, but if you wear Gryffindor or Slytherin robes, the photos come out amazing! The colors match well and are vibrant.
3. Potions Classroom
Always take photos here with flash; they come out really well. Please don’t miss this spot.
4. Mirror of Erised
As you can see from my photos, if you take several shots from the same angle and then cut and connect the mirror part and the standing part, you can create a photo that looks like the Mirror of Erised is moving ㅎㅎ It’s even better if you have the Philosopher’s Stone, right?
5. Library
Pretend to study while sitting on a chair. The photos have different vibes depending on whether the flash is on or off.
6. Hogwarts Bridge
If you stick your body out and crop the lower part just right, it really looks like you’re standing on the bridge!
7. Hagrid’s Motorcycle
I was alone, but this is the best spot for two people to take photos.
8. Platform 9 3/4 Entrance
This is a classic ㅎㅎ The more dynamic your pose, the better the photo.
9. Shop Mirrors
This is the shop near the train, but all the mirrors in other shops also take amazing photos! (Especially for faces)
10. Hogwarts Castle
Malfoy... It looks beautiful even without flash ㅎㅎ The lighting changes from morning to night, but just before it gets dark is the best time for photos.
Places that come out a bit disappointing...
1. Great Hall
Videos taken while entering look nice, but photos don’t have good composition and are disappointing... Taking photos in the dining area feels prettier.
2. Your Own House’s Opposite Dormitory
Wearing Gryffindor robes in Slytherin or vice versa looks a bit off ㅎㅎ
3. Library Stairs
The background looks too unnatural.
4. Forbidden Forest
It’s too dark to see anything...
5. Inside Hogwarts Bridge
This looks way too much like a set and is kind of funny ㅋㅎㅋㅎ It’s also hard to find a time with no people, so it’s better not to take photos here.
6. Dudley’s House
The lighting is a bit poor.
7. Inside the Hogwarts Express
The outside of the train is okay, but inside the lighting is awkward and it’s narrow, so photos come out strange.
8. Ministry of Magic
It’s too dark, and I’m not sure it looks that pretty for photos.
9. Diagon Alley
Photos here really don’t come out well... I only recommend taking a proof shot.
10. Bottom of Hogwarts Castle
Photos taken from below have awkward composition. I recommend taking photos from above!
!Pro Tips!
1. Wear Gryffindor or Slytherin robes
Most of the main characters in this series come from these two houses, so they have the most screen time... It’s better to wear these if possible. The Quidditch video team was probably these two houses as well.
2. Buy a wand first and enter
You’ll just leave it at home anyway, so take lots of photos with it here! You can shop and then leave your items! Just leave the box and take the wand with you for photos.
3. Drink Butterbeer
You can take the cup home, which is awesome!
4. Use the original photo zones (experience zones)
Before entering, staff will explain how to use the barcode.
1) Enter the magical picture frame
2) Patronus experience
3) Teleport with Floo Powder
4) Cheer for Quidditch
These four spots came out really cute in photos ㅎㅎ
