A Day Strolling in Tokyo: Shibuya – Shinjuku

For this Tokyo trip, we took a day off from Disneyland to fully experience the “true Tokyo” vibe. Easy to walk, fun to explore, and endless eating in Shibuya – Shinjuku, two famous neighborhoods that never sleep.

📍 Start at Shibuya. As soon as you get off the station, you’ll see the iconic “Shibuya Crossing.” People crossing in waves like a nonstop fashion show all day long. Crossing yourself is fun, and watching others is entertaining.

🧸 Don’t forget to stop by and take a photo with the statue of Hachiko, the loyal dog, and visit Shibuya Scramble Square. Head up to the top floor, “Shibuya Sky,” for an amazing panoramic view of Tokyo, especially beautiful at sunset.

🍣 After walking around, it’s time to eat! Shibuya is full of tempting restaurants, from conveyor belt sushi to ramen and Japanese sweets. We chose a small beef bowl shop with only a counter — but the taste was absolutely melt-in-your-mouth.

🚇 Then take the train to Shinjuku, another lively area with a different vibe from Shibuya. Here you’ll find malls, shops, parks, and a variety of entertainment districts.

🦖 The highlight is the Godzilla Head emerging from the Gracery Shinjuku hotel building! It’s huge, and the roaring sound in the afternoon is thrilling. You can get a close look if you stay at the hotel or take the elevator up to the café on top for a similar experience.

📸 Down below, there are plenty of photo spots, from neon corners and mysterious cafés to game shops and gacha machines, giving you a chance to snap pictures every 10 steps.

🛍 End your day shopping at Don Quijote, Uniqlo, and Japanese brand shoe stores with discounts. If you love shopping, you’ll definitely bring home some great finds!
