Tokyo, the birthplace of sashimi cuisine, maintains extremely high quality from live fish to preservation and finally to the consumer’s plate. It’s truly amazing.

When you come to Shinjuku, there are two experiences I highly recommend. One is live fish—you can catch, kill, and eat it yourself, with various preparation methods to choose from. It’s a super cool experience. Remember, don’t release the fish after catching it; you have to pay once you catch it.

The other is the live tuna cutting show, where fresh tuna is dissected right before your eyes and classified by parts. You can taste fresh sashimi with different cuts and fat content, each offering a completely different flavor👍
