Tomioka Hachimangu Shrine (Fukagawa Hachiman), a representative shrine of Tokyo's downtown Fukagawa area, is a historic shrine known as the largest Hachiman shrine in Edo.
It's also famous as the birthplace of Edo Kanjin Sumo! ✨✨
The spacious grounds are perfect for strolling, and in the summer, the shade of the trees offers a pleasant, cool time.🌳
👀 Highlights include the "Yokozuna Rikishi Monument," engraved with the names of past Yokozuna champions, and the large stone monuments within the grounds. A must-see for sumo fans! Tourists are also welcome, and the photogenic torii gate and main hall are a must-see.📸✨
📍 Access: 3-minute walk from Monzen-Nakacho Station on the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line
🕒 Opening Hours: 6:00 AM - 5:00 PM
💴 Admission is free
We recommend combining a tour of Monzen-Nakacho with a visit to Fukagawa Fudodo, located just a minute's walk away.
Experience the rich history and downtown atmosphere! 🙌
