Located in central Tokyo, Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden is one of Japan's most famous gardens and a featured spot on the "100 Famous Autumn Leaves Spots in Japan" list. In autumn (approximately mid-November to early December), the garden's approximately 1,000 maple, ginkgo, and cherry trees transform into a vibrant riot of red, gold, and orange. These vibrant colors complement the meticulously manicured Japanese gardens, lakes, and greenhouses, creating a rare glimpse of autumnal elegance in the city. During autumn foliage season, the garden's chrysanthemum exhibition complements the autumn leaves beautifully. Strolling along the tree-lined paths and lawns will immerse you in the romantic atmosphere of Tokyo's autumn. Occasionally, the leaves are illuminated at night, bringing their vibrant colors to life.

Getting there: From Tokyo Station, take the JR Yamanote Line to Shinjuku Station, a five-minute walk. Alternatively, take the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line to Shinjuku-Gyoenmae Station, a one-minute walk. Admission is 500 yen (adults) and is open from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM (last admission at 4:00 PM). Closed on Mondays (or holidays). Visiting early in the morning or on a weekday is recommended to avoid the weekend crowds and enjoy the tranquil beauty of the autumn leaves and gardens.
