Great Value Grilled Eel in the Heart of Ginza
Hitsumabushi Bincho is a Nagoya-style grilled eel restaurant with several branches, but we ate at the one in the Ginza area. Located on the 12th floor of the Marronnier Gate Ginza 1 building, it wasn't very crowded, and we waited in line for about half an hour before we got in. As for Hitsumabushi Bincho, the way to eat it is to divide the rice into portions: the first portion is eaten plain, the second portion is mixed with seaweed or green onions, and the last portion is poured with soup and wasabi to make it like eel porridge. I have to say that every dish is delicious because the eel is grilled perfectly from the start. The grilled eel is incredibly fragrant, with no fishy smell at all. The sauce is perfectly sweet and salty, with no overpowering flavor like other restaurants. Prices start at just under 3,000 yen, which is not at all expensive for eel.
