We spent a quiet afternoon at The National Art Center, Tokyo, exploring the much-anticipated Matisse Exhibition. The highlight for us was the recreation of the Chapel of the Rosary in Vence, one of Matisse’s final masterpieces. The space was breathtaking — sunlight filtering through stained glass, filling the room with soft, colored light. It felt as if time stood still; we could’ve stayed there forever.
The exhibition showcased an impressive collection of Matisse’s work, from his bold cut-outs to delicate sketches, each piece radiating his vibrant spirit and mastery of color. It’s a truly inspiring experience for anyone who loves art, design, or light itself.
The museum’s architecture is also stunning — sweeping glass walls, elegant curves, and natural light that make simply being here an experience in itself.
