A slow walk through Asukayama Park reveals more than greenery—it’s a living gallery of Meiji–Taishō elegance. We wandered between shaded paths and historic buildings, pausing at the Shibusawa Memorial Museum to trace the life and legacy of Eiichi Shibusawa.
Beyond the famed Seien Bunko, there’s another gem: Bankoro, a refined Western-style tea pavilion gifted to Shibusawa in celebration of his 77th birthday. Step inside and you’ll notice how every detail has been carefully considered—the stained glass glow, the proportion of the staircase, the patterns on pillars and trim. It’s intimate, exquisite, and quietly breathtaking.
Come for the park, stay for the craftsmanship—Asukayama is where nature and history meet in perfect balance.
