The greatest advantage of traveling in Tokyo was that the atmosphere I wanted unfolded right before my eyes without much planning. If I wanted to shop, I could head to Shinjuku or Shibuya. If I wanted a more sentimental stroll, I could head to Harajuku or Nakameguro. If I wanted to experience tradition, I could head to Asakusa. No matter which area I chose, there were plenty of things to see and eat in the immediate vicinity.

Easy subway access, and simply exploring the area around the station made for a satisfying day. If it suddenly rained, I could easily change my route by heading straight to a department store or large retailer. If I got hungry, I could grab a delicious snack or meal at a convenience store.

Tokyo may seem complex, but it was a city that embraced travelers with the utmost gentleness.
Getting to the right place at the right time was the perfect way to enjoy a perfect trip.
