Shanghai to Tonglu / Three days two nights / Leisurely self-driving tour

✨Leisurely mountain and water tour, no thrilling activities throughout

① Day 1: Depart from Shanghai → Tonglu County Town 【Old Revolution】lunch → Daqi Mountain National Forest Park → 【Zhouji Pig Trotter Soup】dinner → Fuchun River riverside stroll and night tour → rest
② Day 2: Wake up naturally 【Qiang’s Scallion Pancake breakfast】→ drive to homestay near Baiyun Source → change clothes for creek trekking → homestay lunch → nap → Maling Ancient Trail (start around 4 PM) → homestay dinner → walk in the mountains → rest
③ Day 3: Wake up naturally 【homestay buffet breakfast】→ creek trekking and water play → return to Tonglu County Town to pack souvenirs → return to Shanghai 【KFC lunch at service area】

❤️Really love Maling Ancient Trail【Photos 1-9】:
►For kids, only recommend hiking from Maoping Village to Shishe Village; kids can easily walk this section on their own.
►You can park at Maoping Village parking lot (with charging stations), take a taxi to Shishe Village, then hike back to Maoping Village.❗However, Shishe Village has a great creek trekking spot【Photo 7】, so if you bring kids there, they might not want to leave.
►We chose to park at Maoping Village and hike to Shishe Village. You first cross a cement road, and after seeing the 【Ancient Bridge Restaurant】, take the mountain trail to officially start hiking. The whole way is very photogenic. When you see a crowd gathered at the creek trekking spot, you’ve reached Shishe Village. Then take a taxi back.❗Do not bring a stroller; there is an uphill section and the trail is narrow, not suitable for strollers.
►Maling Ancient Trail has signposts all along the way; just follow them. If you get tired, you can end the hike at any point and take a taxi back.

❤️Homestay creek trekking【Photos 10, 12】: We chose a homestay near Baiyun Source, located upstream, which made me feel the water quality would be cleaner. Also, since Baiyun Source Scenic Area is not open, the homestay prices are more affordable, and the creek trekking experience is better without overcrowding.

❤️Daqi Mountain is in its high water season in early August, with very beautiful scenery【Photos 11, 13-15】, but it has now entered the dry season and is not recommended to visit.

❤️The Fuchun River night view can be fully enjoyed by strolling along the river. The square opposite the Atour Hotel has a night market in the evening, which is great for a walk.
