🌸 is the "Jiangnan in my heart" as Liu Ruoying describes it, and also my secret treasure among ancient towns. Having visited many water towns in Jiangnan, I personally feel this place has a more delicate ancient charm than Scenic Area[Place]the noise of over-commercialization, only the gentle blend of flowing water, stone bridges, and white walls with black tiles.

❤ I have compiled this super practical Wuzhen guide to share with you 12 must-do things based on my own experience. Save it, and next time you visit Wuzhen, follow this checklist for sure!

1. Night tour of West Scenic Zone: Be sure to stay until night at West Scenic Zone[Place]When the lanterns light up one by one, their glow reflects on the shimmering water. Taking a boat ride through it feels like stepping into an ink painting, fully immersing in the romance of Jiangnan.
2. Check in at the Mu Xin Art Museum: The Xin Art Museum[Place]in West Scenic Zone is my personal favorite. The museum is simple and serene; quietly viewing Mr. Mu Xin’s manuscripts and paintings, you can feel the gentle intertwining of words and art, making even the air feel calm.
3. Explore South and North Scenic Zones: To see Wuzhen’s most authentic side, stroll around Scenic Zone[Place]and North Scenic Zone. There’s no touristy order here, just locals drying clothes and elders chatting at alley corners—every step filled with the warmth of everyday life.
4. Follow the footsteps of "The Flow of Time": The filming location of "The Flow of Time," starring Huang Lei and Liu Ruoying, is a must-visit! Walking there, you can almost feel the tender emotions from the drama. Then visit Grand Theatre[Place]to see the unique beauty created by the clash of modern architecture and ancient town style.
5. Visit the East Scenic Cultural Exhibits: The Dun Former Residence[Place]holds the past of a literary giant, the Xin Former Residenceexudes the spirit of a scholar, and the Hundred Beds Museum filled with old beds—all tell Wuzhen’s cultural stories. History lovers, don’t miss this.
6. Watch an authentic folk performance: The thrilling high-pole boats, lively shadow puppetry, and melodious flower drum opera are all worth watching. In the evening, remember to go to Scenic Zone Open-Air Cinema[Place]bring a small stool to watch old movies, full of nostalgia. Passing by Hengxing Lantern Shop[Place]pick a lantern to instantly boost the atmosphere.
7. Stroll along the Ming and Qing ancient streets in West Scenic Zone: Once again, I’m captivated by the ancient buildings in West Scenic Zone[Place]Walking on the bluestone paths, passing scattered Ming and Qing residences, touching the weathered walls, it feels like traveling back to old Jiangnan. Every photo is a classic ancient-style shot.
8. Take a punt boat ride through the water town: How can you visit Wuzhen without a punt boat ride? The boatman slowly rows, the water gently flows, and the scenery on both sides slowly recedes. At that moment, you truly understand the meaning of "traveling in a painting," so relaxing you don’t want to get off.
9. Wear Hanfu and blend into the water town: Choose a Hanfu you like at Huashang Hanfu Experience Hall (Wuzhen Store)[Place]dress up, and walk through the ancient town. The flowing sleeves complement the white walls and black tiles, as if you’ve stepped out of a Jiangnan painting.
10. Taste all the Wuzhen specialties: The fragrant, soft, and glutinous Wumi rice and the crispy-on-the-outside, tender-on-the-inside scallion pancakes are must-try local flavors. Don’t forget to visit Rice Wine Shop[Place]for a pot of sweet and clear Wuzhen wine; the slightly tipsy feeling is perfect for Jiangnan nights.
11. Have a bowl of heartwarming snacks: The wontons at Ma Wonton Shop[Place]have thin skins and large fillings, warming both stomach and heart with every bite; also don’t miss the soft and sweet Qing Tuan[Place]the true taste of spring.
12. Stay one night in an ancient town homestay: You must stay one night in Wuzhen! Choose a homestay near the scenic area, fall asleep listening to the sound of flowing water, and wake up to birdsong. Only then can you truly experience the day and night charm of the Jiangnan water town.

🌸 Wuzhen Accommodation Recommendation
This time in Wuzhen, I found a homestay with a Jiangnan style that I really love. The location is excellent, very convenient for night views, highly recommended to you!

✔️ Recommended Homestay: Wuzhen Lanshe Holiday Garden Homestay

🍃 This homestay really matches my aesthetic! Unlike the typical internet-famous styles, Lanshe Holiday Garden Homestay[Place]shows care in every detail—a huge courtyard full of greenery, full of poetry. Summer here is so comfortable; the homestay provides champagne, red wine, fresh juice, and delicious food like grilled fish and crayfish. Eating and chatting in the courtyard while enjoying the evening breeze is simply heavenly!

The homestay’s views are also fantastic. Whether in the room or the courtyard, you can feel the elegance of Jiangnan. It’s perfect for couples or friends traveling together. Stay once and you’ll never forget it~
