A trip around East Java

📍 a 3-day-trip to Bromo, Tumpak Sewu and Ijen
🚩I arrived to Surabaya in the evening and experienced to stay at the hotel then, but the driver picked me up at 11 o’clock, so don’t mistake the time, the tour from Surabaya starts at 11 o’clock to have enough time to arrive to the location where you will be picked up by a jeep

🚘On first day was at Bromo, after that we drive to the Tumpak Sewu area for 3 hours and the rest of the day I spent at the local hotel and went to a local restaurant for dinner.
On the second day we set off to the waterfall at 7 am, then we visited the viewing platform and the Teras Semeru. At 2 pm we moved toward Ijen and arrived to that area at 7pm. We had a very short rest because the same evening at 11 pm we set off to the Ijen national park. To the location we arrived at 1 am, and then started the hike at about 2 am. After seeing the blue fire (which was just gas) and watching the sunrise, which I missed because I went to see the blue fire we started to go down and after reaching the base station at 8 am we started out journey back to Surabaya, it took at about 7 hours and it was pretty dangerous because the driver didn’t sleep all night and he was very sleepy during the way back.

🍜 there’s only local cuisine can be found which is variation of rise, noodles and chicken. The average place for one person with a drink 60.000-70.000.

💡 Tips
1) If you there to take photos so I would recommend you to skip the blue fire, otherwise you may not make in time for sunrise. Or you can avoid traveling in July and August where there many people and waiting time to go up and down is really long.

2) At Bromo(25.000) and Ijen (50.000)you can rent a jacket or take you own because it’s frizzing at night there.

3) Don’t hesitate to bargain, because locals take you as ATM and expect to have money from you. For the same souvenir a lady in front of my paid 50.000 but I was told 100.0🙄ridiculous.

4) Starts from 6 January 2024 a health certificate is required to get to the Ejen. My driver told me that the price is 100.000 and he requested the one for me. #indonesia #indonesiatrip #bromo火山 #ijen #tumpaksewu #travel
