We spent a quiet weekend exploring Shurakuen Garden, the former villa garden of the Tsuyama Domain. Built during the Edo period as a retreat for the feudal lord, this traditional Japanese garden beautifully reflects harmony between nature and architecture.

The landscape features a central pond surrounded by carefully arranged stones, wooden bridges, and seasonal trees that create different views throughout the year. The reflection of the greenery on the still water was breathtaking — a perfect spot for photography or peaceful contemplation.

Even with its historical roots, the garden feels very much alive — a tranquil oasis that connects you to Japan’s elegant past.
