Morozovsky Town in Tver: Red Brick and the Breath of Time

When you enter the neighborhood between the Tmaka River and the old railroad, it feels like you've stepped into another century.
Before you lies an entire red brick town: factory buildings, apartment buildings, barracks, a theater, a school. Everything was built in the late 19th century for the workers of Morozov's factory, the greatest industrialist of his time.
The architecture is austere and beautiful—a blend of neo-Gothic and industrial Art Nouveau. Even the air here is different: it smells of time, metal, and the dampness of brick after rain. In the evenings, when the sun sets behind the buildings, the town takes on a particularly cinematic quality—the shadows cast long shadows, the windows sparkle, and you can hear the wind blowing through the empty courtyards.
📍 How to get there
Morozovsky Gorodok is located in Tver, in the Proletarsky District, not far from the city center. It's a 30-40-minute walk from the train station, or you can take buses #10, 11, or 52 to the Morozovsky Gorodok stop.
👣 What to see
— The main street with the Paris building and factory facades.
— Old workers' residential buildings—simple but full of character.
— The theater and the remaining factory gates.
— The contrast between the old industrial quarter and the modern city.
