During my stay in Cappadocia, I took a local bus for a day trip to Uchisar Castle 🚌. Unlike the bustling tourist hub of Göreme, this small town has a relaxed and tranquil atmosphere.
Climbing to the top of the castle offers a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view, making the trip well worth it ✨. Uchisar Castle is filled with various photo spots, and taking turns snapping pictures with friends and other tourists I met there was incredibly fun 😆.
Another highlight is Pigeon Valley, which stretches from Uchisar Castle to Göreme! The unique rock formations are a sight you’d never find in Japan—truly stunning!
Near one of the viewpoints in Pigeon Valley, I discovered a very local shop where I tried Mantı, a Cappadocian specialty 🍽️. It’s like pasta stuffed with minced meat, topped with yogurt sauce and tomato sauce—a refreshing and delicious dish 🍅.
🏰: Entrance fee is 10 lira. There are many stairs, but it’s worth the climb!
🚌: About 15 minutes one way by local bus from Göreme. Fare is 20 lira per person, cash only 💰.
🌄: The soft afternoon light is highly recommended.
