I made a special trip to Uji
We went at the end of June, the sun was shining (remember to wear a hat)
Take advantage of the convenience store on the way from the station to Mimurotoji Temple.
Mimurotoji Temple has many local Japanese and Taiwanese/Korean tourists going to the temple, but it is not too crowded.
The steps up to the main hall were a bit difficult on a hot day, but when we got to the temple we saw many interesting stone statues, and everyone started to touch them to bring good luck.
Walking past the temple and going down to the hydrangea garden, you can see it from a distance and take photos up close. If you don’t know much about framing, just refer to the amazing Korean aunt❣️
💞Recommendation reason: It’s not bad to see hydrangeas in Keihanshin before summer vacation when there are no cherry blossoms/maple leaves.
🗓️Itinerary: Same-day round trip from Umeda to Uji (1.5 hours)
