Very Grand, Very Golden, Very Vientiane!

Pha That Luang, or Great Stupa, is an important monument in the city of Vientiane. This grand golden Buddhist stupa could even be considered a national symbol in Laos. And I can totally see why!

Accompanying this majestic structure gleaming in glorious sunlight is the equally captivating reclining Buddha! As gigantic as this statue is, there is interestingly nothing imposing about it. It actually exudes calmness.

When that sun beats down too strongly, head indoors to explore the monastery and take time to take in the intricate hand-painted artwork and carvings.

There is just so much beauty in Vientiane!
