Patuxai Gate of Vientiane

Patuxai in Vientiane, Lao PDR
It is a monument located at the end of the northeast of Lan Xang Road in the heart of Vientiane, Laos. It was originally known as "Anusawalee" and was built from 1957 to 1968 as a memorial to honor Lao soldiers who died during World War II and in the liberation from France.
It is decorated in Lan Xang art, with mythical animals from Buddhist beliefs such as Kinnari, Naga, and gods in Brahmanism - Hinduism decorating the area around the gate. There is a fountain show with music.
